  1. Welcome back!
We had an issue with our host some time ago, so we had to revert back the forums to a previous backup. Sadly, we lost some topics, but you are free to make them again!

  2. This is a summed up version of our survey results, highlighting the things we need to improve on the most.

    - Customization -

Feedback was pretty positive, meaning that we will be directing our attention away from customization and to other more urgent systems. This doesn't mean that we will be ignoring customization altogether, we will be slowly adding more options for unique styles.

    - Combat -

The general impression is that it's hard for practical application because of how easy it is to evade attacks. To improve on this, we will be looking to change the movement speed values while also exploring other solutions like lock-on targeting and homing projectiles.

Another thing made clear to us was that the controls were somewhat confusing and impractical. With improvements, we also plan to make a tutorial-type introduction to the combat mechanics with visual indications. In the near future, we will be working on implementing key-bindings to make this process more customizable.

Ninjutsu was by far the most well received part of combat, while Taijutsu was the least well received. We will be working on allowing more freedom of movement while cutting down on animation-lock times. We are also exploring the idea of animation canceling, but more on that in the future.

There isn't much to talk about stats. We can't precisely balance things before we reach character progression phases, in which we can properly evaluate time and effort spent in relation to power gain from each stat point. Expect us to always fine-tune this system in Alpha 1.

Animations and Visuals were well received, so not much will change in the way we work in this department. We have a lot more spells incoming, so stay tuned for that.

    - User Interface -

This was by far our least popular feature, and rightfully so. We ask you to understand that we have no UI/UX designer on our team so we might not be able to compete with AAA-level games in this particular field. Even so, we will be trying out new looks and ideas, so expect this to improve with time.

    - Graphics -

Graphics feedback was pretty positive, but with that said we still aim to improve, especially in the settings department. We will be working on resolution and graphics quality settings in the near future.

    - Lag and FPS-

We are aware of the lag spikes and fps issues, this is something that we will be spending a lot of time working on. We have had some hosting issues, but we expect to resolve that in the near future.

As for the fps drops, we will go through all of our systems and try to optimize them as much as possible. As stated above, we will also work on graphics settings to allow players with more decent setups to play with no issues.

    - Consensus -

The majority of you wanted us to focus most of our attention to combat, with optimization and UI in the second and third place. We hear you, so we will be spending a lot of time on these features.

    - Final Notes-

Overall, we are happy with how the first testing phase went. We got a lot of constructive feedback from you, and we also found a ton of bugs which we have to fix.

Again, we want to thank everyone who took their time to participate in the testing phase, as well as the survey. We plan on making these after every patch, so we will be counting on your support again in the future!

    Kind Regards,

    Staff Team

  7. First of all, the topic was moved to Suggestions forum which i believe is the nature of this topic. While some of the suggestions you've stated are interesting, most of them are not going to be included in the game. Keep in mind that this is not because the suggestions are bad per se, but because we already have different systems in mind that we think are more suitable. That being said, we are working on the official guidelines for all of the features of the game and will release them once we enter the alpha testing phase so stay tuned!

I'd be more interested in more of naruto style skills rather than elemental based..

being able to use bugs like Shino, or using shadows like Shikamaru.. etc..

    altho its probably copyright issues

That's what bloodlines are for. However here we are discussing random traits such as stats which serve as a way to improve your skills, among other things.

Also it's not a copyright issue, as this is a fan made game, not a commercial product.

I had talked about this on the discord. I was saying i think the combat should be skill based where our hand to hand combat is like right click and left click for light and heavy and we can dodge and stuff. Then for jutsu idk if you have ever played Naruto Naiteki Kensei but the way they had jutsus cast was holding down a key to begin forming hand seals then you had to press wsad in certain patterns to do specific jutsu. I feel like that style is purely skill based AND very much like the tv series combat. I also think targeting should only be for close range hand to hand combat and that we should have a crosshair at all times to aim our ranged jutsu. Ill write it in more detail later I just woke up ahah.

The problem with this is that you would need two hands on the keyboard at all times, assuming that you 100% won't be casting them on wasd.

  10. What kind of combat system would you like to see in game?

There is the old school WoW-like system where a target is required and once a spell is activated, it travels towards the target no matter what. There is also the modern style of combat where most of the spells are aoe, or directional. When talking about the modern one, we have to look at these facts:

Pros: Allows for a more dynamic combat, especially in pvp. It's more skill based compared to the old one.

Cons: Lag. Since the targets aren't pre-determined, there will be times when people get out of range or accidentally get shot by a spell because of lag. From personal experience, this is a major issue and in order to keep these problems to a minimum, we would require a very expensive server to run this kind of system without problems, not to mention that players would also need fast connection.

That being said, the prime idea would be to create a mixture of both. Having targeted combat as the default way to fight, but also having a lot of aoe and other effects. A good example for this would be the fireball jutsu. Once the jutsu hits the target, it can also deal aoe damage around the target in a specific range, depending on the size and power of the jutsu. Another example would be rasengan. When the target is hit, it will get knocked back a certain distance while also damaging everyone in it's path. This way we can minimize the lag casualties and incorporate the modern combat elements while also making sure that the combat is stable enough. This will also allow us to fully develop the dodging mechanics.

    What are your thoughts?

  11. 3 minutes ago, unart said:

Well, what does that mean your skills gets chosen by your chakra nature?

Yes, you can learn skills based on the chakra nature you get. For instance you can only learn fire ball if you have fire nature.

    4 minutes ago, unart said:

Also, that means if I wanna play more of a healing class I would have to reroll water for example, or if I want more DPS I would have to reroll Fire?

No, the healing class doesn't have anything to do with water nature path, nor does your nature path decide your dps.

    5 minutes ago, unart said:

And does that mean that you can only have 1 chakra nature? and if not, would you randomly choose the 2nd one?

No, you are not limited to one. The 2nd one isn't a primary one as anyone is able to learn a secondary chakra nature, hence they wouldn't be randomly chosen.

That will be nice but to prevent people from just spamming character there should be system that prevents you make new character for like 7 days or sometime so that they just start with whatever they gets and yeah some people will get some good stuff at start but eventually they will be equal to others as other will catch up to them cos of bad stuff they gets ! It just needed to be balanced so that no one gets more then others

A 7 day jail is a stretch, it's something that we are trying to avoid.

The stat + and - would be balanced. Picture it like this, some characters would be better at executing ninjutsu while others would be better at taijutsu.

  12. Should players be given a random trait once they create their character?

For example, once you create your character you are granted a primary chakra nature. This is something that we have discussed among ourselves and have different opinions on the matter, hence why we are asking the community.

Pros: This will add a touch of reality because neither in the real world do you choose how you start out or the talents you are born with. It also means that characters will be diverse as we don't want all players to pursue same paths.

Cons: At the end of the day, if players want to get a specific primary nature, they would just remake the character until they get what they want. This is not impossible to prevent however it's a bit repelling and we are wondering if the diversity is worth the struggle.

With that said, there are other ways to deal with this. For example, we could implement a system that grants new characters a +5 in three stat fields, but also -5 in other three. This way, all new characters are born equal. The only difference is that some excel in certain fields and some at others. Personally, i like this idea more as everyone will be able to get what they want over time but still they have an edge over others in the beginning.

  13. In this section we will be hosting public discussions about the systems and features we plan to incorporate into the project. This serves as a way for all players to voice their opinion on the things presented.

    - Rules

    1. Only the developers are allowed to host the discussions. If you have separate ideas of your own that you would like to present, head over to this section.

    2. It is very important to stay on-topic! Do not discuss about things other than the main topic or else we will be forced to remove your comments.

    3. Do not be toxic! Be respectful towards others. This is not the place to express your rage.

    4. Do your best to contribute to the discussion. Simple comments like "Yes" or "No" will not lead us anywhere.

  14. From now on, all players will be able to post their own clan ideas here. This means that alongside well known clans from the show, we will be taking a look at some custom ideas to create diversity and enhance the overall gameplay experience.

    Best of luck!
